Sirilak Samanasak Chappell worked part-time at a jewelry shop while studying in university. She became interested in learning the process of designing and producing her own pieces so enrolled in courses in a local polytechnic. She started with simple bead-work, then experimented with semi-precious stones and finally delved into metals: silver, gold, copper and brass. She trained in Scotland and England and has built up clients there who regularly have her produce entire collections of handcrafted jewelry for them. Even Kate Middleton has worn something she made! Her love of stones takes her on visits to India where she sources from an effervescent spectrum of stones to add to her collection. With a charming shop in trendy Nimmanhaemin Rd, she works out of a purpose-made metal shop set in an old Thai teak house. She does bespoke orders as well.
