Rachamankha, a testament to Lanna elegance

Just a short walk from one of Chiang Mai’s most revered temples: Wat Pra Singh, is the Rachamankha, an elegant testament to Lanna architecture. This exquisite property is the largest hotel in the old city center, and sits on 2 perfectly manicured acres with just 25 rooms. Owner Rooj’s love of art is evidenced by his extensive and varied collection, littered throughout the hotel’s walkways. Rooj’s step-father, a national Thai artist and architect, designed the hotel staying true to the region’s Lanna routes incorporating precise spatial proportions and steep-sloping terracotta-tiled roofs, while adding a 19th century Chinese flair. Weave through the hotel’s courtyards, landscaped with some rare bonsais and a magnificent Indian Oak tree towering over the front desk. To top it off, sample some regional cuisine with a selection of Burmese, Shan and Northern Thai favourites.
